In 2015 we were given the opportunity to purchase a warehouse in one of the poorest parts of Preston and, in partnership, we want transform this warehouse and invest in this area, so that we may help more people who are trapped in the vicious cycles of poverty, unemployment, addiction and crime.
The warehouse will become a centre for the community. It will feature a 500-seater auditorium, a café, various sized meeting rooms for youth work, counselling and conferences, a dedicated chapel, parking, a community room and much more.
The centre will serve prison visitors as they wait to visit HMP Preston (directly opposite). It will offer various services for all ages – families, single parents, youth work and the elderly – in conjunction with the wider community and it will provide space for local organisations, businesses and charities to meet.
We ask that you might continue supporting this exciting venture, which will be life-changing for the area and it will help us to move a step closer to meeting the huge demand for our work in Preston.
Crossgate Church New Home Fund
Serve Our Community was formed out of Crossgate Church – our sister charity. Although it is now a separate charity, we continue to enjoy the financial and volunteer support of the church and we could not exist without it.
